Hi friends! Happy friday! It’s been a week full of recipes and DIY’s yes?! Hopefully it makes you guys as happy as it makes me! I’ve been thinking so much lately how I haven’t posted enough DIY’s and figured that this was a good time to put a bunch together! And on top of that I asked two awesome women if they wanted to put together some DIY’s for you! One of the awesome woman I asked is Barbara, the creator and owner of a local organic and all vegan body care company Jacqs Organics 🙂 If you haven’t heard of Barbara and her company yet, she makes GORGEOUS products just a few towns south of me! Check her out!

So, while I’m slowly, unpacking my sandy beach clothes and squeezing my kiddo super hard, here is a super fun all natural facial mask you guys can make at home! And chances are a lot of you guys already have these ingredients in your cabinets! Hooray!

Spring is all about rebirth and revival of beauty. Each year, we endure long cold winter days – unless you’re in a sunny part of the country. Now, it’s time to ditch the heavy coats and heavy creams. While mother nature preps for spring with blossoming flowers, warmer weather and brighter days. Let’s welcome the renewal of spring and the revival of beauty with a simple face mask that promotes detoxification and will leave your skin soft and smooth.

Why use it:
Flax Seeds is an anti-inflammant that feeds and heals skin tissue. Also contains a high amount of omega 3 & omega 6 fatty acids.
-Lime essential is a natural astringent and a great source of vitamin C.
-Lavender is antifungal and antibacterial. Plus it smells delicious.
-Green French clay naturally absorbs oils, unclogs pores all while feeding the skin nutrient-rich minerals.
-Basil contains flavonoids that help protect skin cells from oxidative damage.

What you’ll need:
2 drops of lime essential oil
-2 drops of basil essential oil
-2 drops of lavender essential oil
-1/2 cup flax seeds
-2 cups water
-½ teaspoon green french clay
-Small pot
-Bowl
-Small strainer

How to:

In a small pot, bring 2 cups of water to boil. Remove from heat then add in green clay and flax seeds. Stir and allow to steep for about 25-30 minutes. The flaxseed will expand in the water. Once the mixture becomes gelatinous, strain the seeds and allow the gelatinous mixture to cool in a bowl. Gently add in essential oils and mix.

You will want to strain the mixture while it’s hot. As it gets cold the mixture becomes too thick to strain. Apply gelatinous mixture to face and allow to dry for 15-20 minutes. As it dries your skin will tighten. Rinse with cold water and pat face dry. Soft right? Remaining mixture will last for 7 days in refrigerator. Enjoy face mask 2x a week.

Have a wonderful weekend friends! Hope you love the mask <3<3
