Marlowe and her “party pants”
Eeep Eep. This is certainly a photo-overload post… and this isn’t even half the photos taken πŸ˜‰ Like I mentioned, I decided I just needed to throw together a little something for Marlowe… of course, at the very last minute. I hadn’t really been putting too much emphasis on her birthday (I only started teaching her that she was “two years old” a few days ago) … but still, I don’t know, like a mom, I got emotional that this would be her last birthday in this house, so, well, I pulled a little something together. I messaged a few friends the day before, and asked them to come by for a few hours of unscheduled fun. I asked my friend Emily if she wanted to come by and help me decorate, &she did, wooo. Decorations were all made with the supplies on my home (I have an abundance of scrap fabric from the days when I had time to sew) and I was able to get away with spending almost noting on food and drinks. Woo. And for gifts? Eh, I bought her a truck… and told my friend’s this was a no-gift party. I really don’t want to put to much importance on gifts for birthdays. One fun item will do this year. Also, it’s nice to have an incredibly talented baker-artist friend (Lauren) that offers to bring vegan cupcakes. Well… she offered to bring low-sugar cupcakes, but I asked for vegan ones πŸ˜‰ She’s amazing and managed to make both, a low sugar and vegan cupcake. I didn’t want the rain to ruin our party plans like last year, so this year I planned for an indoor party, that had the option of moving outside. I think it all worked out pretty well! It was incredibly stress free and Marlowe loved it. Win/win πŸ™‚

dirty faced cupcake thief.
See, no gifts needed. That is a tiny (70 sq ft) and very crowded bedroom.
sharing is caring.
Stove popped popcorn, chips, mini sandwiches, starfruit, and grapes. The party food of champions.

and of course.. the best way to end any party: swirling and twirling.
