Christmas Eve started off with a family evening at Mark and Nicole’s house. There was some food and presents opening. Marlowe slept most of the time there until I finally woke her up from her nap in an attempt to try to get her back on her sleep schedule. Marlowe and everyone unwrapped gifts and then we headed off to our next location.
Grandpa and great grandpa.
Our next stop after Mark and Nicole’s was the Lawson’s (Eric’s family friend’s house).
After the Lawson’s house we wanted to head to a local outdoor bar to grab a drink, but everything in my neighborhood was closed so we headed to Dan’s house. Dan is 70, pretty cool, and owns a very awesome house. We played pinball and bowling arcade games while Marlowe slept soundly in her seat. She’s such a good baby and you never have to worry about noise with her.
It was a pretty good day, evening, and night. Marlowe got lots of snuggles and some pretty adorable Christmas gifts. Her grandparents are opening up a college fund as her first Christmas gift π She was perfectly behaved the whole night: no tears, mostly sleeping, and smiles. My only complaint was running out of cloth diapers. It’s been hard using a cycle of 6. Luckily she got some more in the mail this weekend!
Christmas was also Marlowe’s 3 month birthday! π Christmas morning we headed back to Eric’s house to exchange gifts. Marlowe slept through gift opening, but she got some very nice things! I got some pretty nice things too! After gift time we had breakfast and play time. By time the time everything was done with it was 1 o’clock and we headed off to Steve and Kristine’s house.
Eric with two of his records and my new second pair of
Osborn Design shoes!
After a stop at Steve and Kristine’s we headed to Eric’s parents house for more gift exchange and Christmas dinner with his family. Marlowe and I received the most amazing gifts and Marlowe got her first official Christmas card. We had a delicious Christmas dinner and a few cupcakes and headed back to Eric’s with a car full of amazing goodies. Lots of amazing wooden toys, books, games, clothes for Marlowe and even the cutest place setting from Anthropologie for her. I got my
Cuisinart processor for pestos and baby foods,
Babycakes cookbook full of vegan cupcakes and vegan desserts–so very fitting I know, spice holders, and much much much more.
We even had handmade stockings there! (Jerry got tennis balls)
I spy an old man puppy dog.
My little teething baby and her new teether.
I spy a hatchet.
It was a great weekend. I’m so excited about everything both Marlowe and I received. Even though I still have a lot of family everywhere that I didn’t get to see, I’m so very grateful for my friends and family I was able to see this Holiday season. Eric, Marlowe, and I are still in the process of handing out our surprise Christmas gift, but soon enough I will be able to post about it π Yay Marlowe’s first Christmas!
Christmas votes are appreciated:
