Let me go out of order and start with the best news:
Ultrasound and 38 week appointment went wonderfully 🙂 She is just the right weight and seems to be happily content in my small measuring belly. They estimated her to be around 6.13 pounds! Hooray 🙂 Her heartbeat is still going strong, I’m still gaining a bit of weight (25 pounds total from my first check up), and still pushing on. Things are moving along quite nicely.Monday I headed to the craft store for a few items and fabric for a small project. Since John (“Record Store Man”) has been so wonderful I made made him a little record shaped pillow. I don’t care much for the wording I put on it, but my OCD-self is pretty pleased with how symmetrical I made the record lines come out.

Later in the afternoon Christine and Rebecca came by with their little ones. And even though they all moved too quick for me to ever take a non blurry picture and grabbed everything in sight, it didn’t make me nervous. I like to be always on the go. I don’t like to slow down. It was nice to catch a glimpse of what my life will be somewhat like in a year with a running, grabbing, playing little one.
I think the thing I enjoy most about looking at these pictures is seeing the similarities between mom and baby. It makes me even more excited to see what Babycakes will look like. I’m so excited to meet her! I described her today as a “hairy stubborn beast of love”. I think thats a pretty accurate description, but we’ll see 🙂
Danielle also stopped by Monday night. I left my phone on silent and accidently lost it for an hour or so. When I returned I had about 6 missed calls, 2 voicemails, and a few text messages. I think everyone figured I was ignoring them, except for Danielle, who thought I may have went into labor. I didn’t…. lol.
Tuesday after my appointment Eric texted saying he had a package waiting for me addressed to me and Babycakes. It was one of the nicest surprises ever! It was the Anthropolgie knobs I’ve been lusting over from Jacquelyn! I sat there mouth dropped open for a while overcome with happiness. The amount of kindness that has been given to me and Babycakes is ridiculous. I’ve had so many family, friends, and complete strangers give me more love than I could ever imagine. It’s amazing how something so scary and once so hard has turned into such a life changing adventure….. and the adventure has hardly even started. I’ve met and connected with so many wonderful people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise through this experience. It’s all pretty incredible.

Tuesday night Mindy (my doula) invited me to attend her Kundalini yoga class for pregnant women. There was one woman there more pregnant then me (she’s due tomorrow HA!) and then everyone else was about 25 weeks in or so. I’ve never been into yoga, or any excerise really, but I enjoyed it and I was in much better shape and much more flexible than I thought I would be at this stage in the game (or ever). I think I struggled less then most of then women there. I can definitely feel it in my arms and legs today though.
Today when I should have been relaxing I did a massive cleaning of my house, made a huge batch of yellow split pea soup,  and finally made my cookie dough ice cream. I’m tired. Tonight is finally pizza night though! I’ve been trying to take my brother and sister in law for-ev-er. Tonight’s the night! But before then its walk time for Jerry, shower time for me, and present dropping off for John 🙂

  1. I love your style and you're so sweet! I found your blog through top baby blogs and I can't wait to read the rest of your journey! You've been on one hell of a beginning-of-a-journey!

    Racheous <3

  2. actually you can do both. there are certain tables where they can fit the belly through a hole. If you have a regular massage table, the massage is performed with the client lying on her side. Most women like lying on the side, though, its more comfortable for them.

  3. I'm going to look very stupid here but….
I've always wondered how does one get a pre natal massage. Are there special beds with holes for the bellies? or does one lay on their side? or what?

    &It is a small world! 🙂

  4. Hmmm….I have a feeling I know who your doula is. I know a doula named Mindy who does that specific yoga class….Small world! I doubt she remembers me, but she is the sweetest! You are in Good hands….
P.s. I do pre-natal massages so if you start getting ansty from the waiting game of your little one to make her presence, you should get a massage. I had one about 3 weeks before I had Ayden and it.was.heaven.
