I think I looked forward to the weekend a little too much. Friday night was spent on the couch doing a whole lot of nothing. Sometimes I enjoy nothing, but I usually don’t, especially when I spend a full day doing nothing. So Friday came and went and was followed by a lovely boring Saturday filled with clouds, my frustrations, and more nothing. Saturday night Eric and I were supposed to join some friends in pizzeria plans and failed. So in one last attempt to make saturday better we invited friends over to join us and drink my brothers beer (Thanks Mark and Nicole).

The few good things about Saturday:

The sun finally came out on Sunday and Eric and I attempted to go out in the sunshine to make the weekend and my mood a little better. We went for a stroll in downtown Delray and found some delicious cuban food to munch on. Marlowe was awesome and sat quietly and happily in the stroller. She was super cranky all of Saturday night and not enjoying anything (like her Mama), but Sunday seemed to work out perfectly for her. She was in a much better mood and the timing of everything went really well. After lunch we headed back to Lake Worth so I could finally meet and have dinner with Jacquelyn. (She was the one who so kindly bought Marlowe the prettiest hardware for her dresser.) Dancy (Danny &Nancy) also joined us. Since I had just eaten lunch I only ordered a soup and the biggest brownie ever and left with the biggest sugar rush imaginable. Again, timing worked out perfectly because I was able to get Marlowe home just as she was waking up to eat. Thank you Marlowe.
The installation of a christmas tree (surrounded by palm trees)…. the only picture I took of either outing. I’m slacking in the ‘bring out my camera’ department.
Shortly after I arrived home Marlowe and I had some visitors! Jamie and her friend Seanie drove up from Miami to meet Marlowe. Not long after their arrival Eric came by and the visit was filled with couch time with friends, Marlowe, Jerry, and Veronica. It was really great to see Jamie. I really need to plan a Miami visit soon. I haven’t been back down there since I moved out in April.
&Of course both of them looked fabulous.
After they left Marlowe had her first shower with me. It was a nice attempt at trying to find a fun easy way to bathe her. But I found baths seem to be much easier. She enjoys both, but I found myself thinking “babies should come with a ‘slippery when wet’ sign.”. All in all Sunday was enjoyable and made up for a boring cloudy Saturday.
Alright, time to get out of the house while the sun is shining!

  1. @KariB143: That is amazing! I love how small the world is!
    I love your tumblr name. Best name ever.

    @Nikki: Thanks!

    @Lil Muse Lily: I never noticed it until that day. I kept joking around about it, but It's really true. It's like PMSING women just all do it together!

    @Cassie: I think once Marlowe gets bigger and can sit up on her own in a sling I might have to try it!

  2. I love showering with baby. I've resorted to putting him in his sling now when we are in the shower because he gets so hard to hold. He actually loves it because its so warm and he is so close to mama. And he can nurse while the warm water hits him. Its bliss I'm sure.

  3. i totally know what you mean when you have had been doing nothing then ppl come over and you still dont do anything! ugh its kinda frustrating.

    Glad you got out and had some fun 🙂
