@Emily: It's a cuisnart. The icecream comes out pretty soft but once you put it in the freezer for another hour or 2 it hardens up. I think it helps to keep the bowl in the very back of the freezer 🙂

Alright, what kind of ice cream maker is that? I got one for Christmas a few years ago and ended up returning it because the bowl would never freeze properly. Then I read lots (read: way too many) of reviews of ice-cream makers, got really discouraged and gave up. But I still want one. And this post looks like yours actually works. So now I want one like yours!
