This is my family. We’re not perfect, but we do try and make the most out of life.
I’m so excited and honored Drea asked me  to share one of my favorite recipes (Naan Pizza) with you.
It’s delicious, exotic and can be made in a number of minutes. Not to mention it’s vegan and vegetarian friendly!

What You Need:

odd_naan
Neera’s Spicy Tandoori Indian Grilling Paste (via whole foods, if you don’t have a whole foods near you, your local Indian market will carry a Tandoori Paste)
Sundried Tomato and Basil Paste Sauce
*Plain Yogurt (cover your ears vegans)
*this is not a necessary ingredient, if you happy to have a vegan friendly option use it, if not skip it.
Mozerella Cheese (vegan option)
Sliced Mango
Sliced Red Onion
Sliced Roma Tomato
Cilantro to Garnish
Naan Bread (Via Whole Foods, sorry vegans Naan bread is NOT friendly to you, making your own dough will totally work too)

Step 1:  Making the Sauce.
Mix together

1/2 table spoon of tandoori paste, be careful, this stuff has a ZING. If you’re not a spicy fan, make it a 1/4 table spoon

1 table spoon plain yogurt (again not necessary)

1/2 cup pasta sauce

Step 2: Grate the CheeseCut your onions ( wipe your tears, red onions are BRUTAL), Cut the mango

Step 3: Spread (the sauce) sprinkle (the cheese) and arrange (the onions, mango and tomato)

Step 4: Bake at 350 F for 10-12 minutes

Step 5: Garnish with Cilantro and ENJOY.

Thank you sooo much for sharing Kathleen!! You rule &come over for dinner anytime. I can cook, but I’d prefer if you do it 🙂
Vegan notes: This isn’t a vegan recipe, but as you can see it can be very easily veganized. Sub the cheese with Follow Your Heart Mozzarella (this is my personal favorite– it’s really the only cheese substitute I eat…. or use your other favorite vegan cheese). Replace yogurt with plain soy yogurt or even plain coconut milk yogurt. The only difficulty: a proper naan replacement. Heres a few naan recipes you could try: HereHere, &Here. I hate working with dough. I once watched someone else make it… I could probably do it if I tried…. Try it for me &bring it to me (please).
PS. Do you have a vegan (or easily veganized) recipe you’d like to share here on ohdeardrea? Contact me at ohdeardrea@gmail.com. Thanks guys! Happy chowing!

  1. Thanks for sharing this recipe it's definitely a really good reward for my brother who got his Food Handler Certification last week. But still work on the dough first. I'm not really the cook-type but I'd like to do something special for him.

  2. oh yum. it looks delicious. I love mangoes and spicy food so this is a great combination. Kathleen you made it very simple for us, thank you.

That pizza looks fabulous! I've been nomming homemade pizza on the regular lately, using Daiya "cheese". Thank God for vegan pizza.

  6. That looks amazing! I wish my husband wasn't allergic to mango, it is a shame having to find substitutes for it (and he hates being allergic to one of the tastiest fruits ever)
