Theres a bowling alley a few miles from my house. Well, theres a few of them, really. But more times then not, everyone is talking about “Verdes”. I’ve never been there. Or… I thought I had never been there. Anytime anyone brought it up, I would say, “I’ve never been there, I really want to go.” Finally weeks ago, on a wednesday morning, I made plans to go. I pulled into the parking lot, I parked my car, I walked up to the front door, and then I realized: I had been to Verdes, 100 times before. Growing up, my grandmother was part of a bowling league, and every summer my brother and I joined my grandmother at her wednesday meet ups. I don’t remember what we did on those wednesdays, whether we bowled or not… probably not, but either way, it was nice to have that moment to remember my grandmother. I love those flashback memories that happen from time to time. The moment that I think  about nothing, but her and my childhood. More times than not, the details escape me, but the feelings of joy never fade. I want to join a bowling league. I want to spend a few hours, once a week, with a bowling ball in hand. It might sound a little funny, but that would be one of my top choice hobbies to pick up, if I had the time. These days, I don’t have time for anything. I plan and scheme and multitask like crazy, just so I can get everything I want accomplished and find a moment to shower. The people around me are starting to think I’m a little nuts…. working until midnight, going home, packing up some clothes, meeting up with friends, and going for a run at one in the morning (on the nights I don’t have Marlowe, of course)… but I mean, when else would I have time? I’ve been itching to put up some sort of home tour on the blog, or at least, a partial home tour. But unfortunately, besides the big room and the kitchen, there is not even one room that is completed. I busted my ass to get in here before the first, but now that I’m in and everything else has piled up on me, there is not even one minute to work on my house. Slowly, but surely… right? I’m starting to realize that big bundles of free time aren’t going to come my way anytime soon. But it’s okay, one day it’ll happen…
&when I do get that time: I’m bowling on wednesdays, just like my grandmother did.
if you had the time, what would you do?

  1. If I had more time, I would read more books and go on more walks. I just temporarily deactivated my facebook in hopes to start doing at least one of those things! πŸ˜›

  2. If I had the time I would do more work around the house. Even though we are leaving it in 10 months to renters, I want to leave it better than we got it. Today I found some free time and pulled up the rest of the carpet but there are still switch plates off the walls and pretty old floorboards and a bathroom in desperate need of some paint.

  4. if i had time i would paint, paint, paint. and stretch on the balance ball. and paint. and try to read a book. and paint….

  5. I've never been a big bowler. But if I had more time I think I'd definitely devote it to crafting and cooking and probably running/working out. πŸ™‚

  6. I worked at a bowling alley for a year, it was heaven to be able to bowl whenever you were slow. I love love love bowling and have always wanted to join a league!!

  8. This post reminds me of my childhood. My parents always belonged to a league, and we would hang out in the arcade while they bowled, playing Pac-Man and putting quarters in the jukebox.

If I had time, I would SLEEP. After that, I'd watch some movies I've wanted to watch for a while but have never had time to watch.

  9. If i had time i would go shopping. I've not shopped in a proper shop for a few months alr πŸ™

  10. If I had the time I would aimlessly wonder without a direction for hours. It seems silly, but wandering, getting lost is kind of fun.

  11. If I had the time I would take an art class, something like watercolors or ceramics. Or maybe I would sleep.

I hope you get to bowl soon!
