The living room, a space where a million photos take place, but a real introduction has yet to take place. Slowly but surely it’s been worked on and real tour photos have been taken (—-by my brother, because you know, my iPhone is good… but not this good). I hope you enjoy a wide and detailed peek into our most loved and lived in space 🙂 I really love this home.
This center still needs some work. Slowly, but surely. Slowly, but surely. I think I’m going to add some hanging plants, and when the time is right, the “sound system” (I know, right?) will be upgraded 😉
we’re in this thing together, a bread baker and a traveling dreamer.
kid friendly shelves.
A peek into the kitchen and dining room, both are wonderful, but both need would like some work. The kitchen could use some serious upgrades, while the dining room just needs a few more touches. Yes, the glitter piñata is still kicking around, but I love him so much.

White walls: Whisper via Quiet Home Paints.
Our tour is also up on A Beautiful Mess, in there series At Home With, where you can find more thoughts on my most loved space. Yay. Happy living 🙂

oh &a few of the before photos… after the cut…

so much better, right?
**Paint c/o quiet home paints. If you’re looking to repaint anything in your home I HIGHLY recommend Quiet Home Paint. It’s some of the easiest, smoothest paint I have ever worked with. It’s eco-friendly, non harmful, and doesn’t give you that paint smell headache that comes too often with remodeling your home (it’s 100% odor, VOC, and solvent free)

  1. This is by far my favorite blog. Your house is adorable and I get all of my room decor inspiration from you! I'm always struggling with how I want my room to look but this blog makes my life a ton easier! You are amazing and I'm really glad I found this blog!

  2. I look at a LOT of pictures of homes online and through magazines – (don't we all)? Because I'm so image saturated with the internet and the like, I feel like it takes a lot to really take my breath away and make me feel like I see something truly unique (not necessarily good thing, but it is what it is) – and I just ADORE this!! You have all really made such a stunning and warm home for yourselves. Thank you for the inspiration!

  3. When I grow up, I want to own a house as gorgeous as yours! :p Just beautiful!

  4. Your house is stunning! Where in South Florida did you find a home with such character! I've lived in Coral Springs, and downtown Fort Lauderdale and outside of Vic Park or Sailboat Bend or Coral Gables, I didn't think it existed!

Gorgeous wedding, i'm hoping to do the same!

  5. Gorgeous home! I am trying to figure out (in the least stalker way as possible) where in South Florida (aside from Vic Park, Sailboat Bend, or the Gables) you found a home with such character!!!!!

I love your wedding and using it as inspiration for mine =)

  12. Where can I get rugs similar to those in your living room, but at an affordable price?

  13. Where can I find rugs similar to those in your living room, but at an affordable price?

    • The two closest to the sliding door, were home goods. I'm not sure of the price, but neither was more than 20$. The bluer one, closer to the kitchen, was Anthro clearance. I think it was 60$ or so. The one under the table, my mom and step dad got while traveling— so no idea.

  14. Your living space is so bright and pretty. I just came over from A Beautiful Mess. I love your floral couches. Great finds.

  15. I have to just say, I am obsessed with your home! Your style is very similar to mine and this home is just perfect for you to showcase that. So very glad to see your family so happy. :]

  16. It's absolutely lovely Drea, so much light and space and you have such fantastic style. And all that storage space, I am so envious! You have done well to create such a beautiful home for your family.

  17. you are so inspiring Drea, like really. And when we visit soflo, you better let us stay in your guest room! 😉

  18. Omg! That elephant side table!! Where from? I love it.
    Beautiful home 🙂

  19. Your home is BEAUTIFUL Drea! And so huge! I'm so happy you've made such a lovely space you're own for your little family 🙂 And can I say how happy I am that you removed the mirrors adjacent to the kitchen? Is that chalkboard paint? I just love it all!!

    • I left two tiny mirror details, but I'm so happy I got rid of the tree big panels… one had this really weird tree, like, ice frosted or something on it?

  20. Just realised I haven't been seeing your pics in my IG feed any more… I'm not much of a commenter, so perhaps I've been deleted as a follower. A shame, because I was enjoying your pics.

Anyway, gorgeous space – a credit to you.

    • I ran the IG Exorcist not too long ago! It deletes ghost followers—- which can be a good and bad thing… mostly good, but sometimes it takes away people who don't need to be taken away, like you— which is obviously bad. It doesn't block you or anything, it's not permanent. Sorry about that! I wish there was an easy way to do get rid of spam manually, so I could keep all the real people!

  21. i love it! so perfect drea. you're motivating me to get my post done. it's officially been a year since we moved and i have yet to share our living space.

the joy of cooking and james beard's american cookery are staples in our house 😉

  22. I clicked over from your IG post and fell in LOVE! Such beautiful photos, Drea! Your home is so light and airy- love how homey it feels too.

  23. i love all the open space and the white walls and shelves, which just make it feel even more airy and open. you've done an amazing job!

  24. Hello Drea!
I'm a new follower and I saw this post on A Beautiful Mess! I love your sense of style both in your house and in your blog! Have a wonderful day!

  25. You definitely breathed life, love, and happiness into this house. It's finally a home! It's beautiful & I love it! So happy for y'all. 🙂

  26. your place is beautiful! Love all the white and colorful patterns! Your family photos are cute too!

  27. i am dying over those stained-glass windows and that couch! I am seriously in love with that couch!! beautiful, fun home.

  28. Gorgeous. So light and lively – can't believe it's the same house as the "before" pictures! Love.

And, so happy things are all working out for you and your adorable family.

  29. How did you paint over your cabinets!? I am starting this project in my own home soon and could use some pointers!

    • This was the first time I ever hired professional painters to help out. But, just for the cabinets, not the walls— it was a VERY smart decision. I questioned doing it, but afterward, I was so incredibly relieved to not try and do it myself. In the big picture of kitchen remolding— it's one of the cheapest (if not the cheapest) ways to give the space a quick facelift.

  30. Your living room is beautiful and inviting – I love how much color and detail is in the room without it looking cluttered!

  31. It's crazy how dark it was before you made it yours. I love it all fresh and airy. Crazy that it's the same space, yet of course it totally is.

  32. Amazing how light the new rooms are, compared to the before pics. Great job on your new space.

  33. Your house is perfect! It really is. All of your furniture pieces fit so well together, it's such a lovely home. Good job on it! 🙂

  34. The most perfect room! It is SO LIGHT! I am so happy for you guys finding this home. I am so anxious that when we start to look for a place to buy and make into our home that we wont be able to find anywhere with character! Fingers crossed we find somewhere half as beautiful as your place

    • put two offers on two other homes and they both fell through… then this gem came to me, at a much better price and all the things I wanted! The house will find you, I swear!

  35. i am so in love with your style and this space.
i honestly don't think i have ever seen such a beautiful room as your living area. <3 (and trust me, i lust after many! haha… i dream of wood floors & white walls and open spaces… our living area is TEENY.)
beautifulbeautiful. and that last photo of you & m jumping – the best.

    • Have you seen my last place? Teeny is okay! I was in 600 square feet of teeny and made it work! and my place before that was even half of that size!

    • yes i have! 🙂 we make it work too, but with a now walking toddler our living area is feeling very cramped! our kitchen is huge & our living area is tiny – not ideal!

  36. Your house is SO gorgeous! It has such beautiful colors and such a fun energy about it. Love your space! 🙂
