Sundays and Mondays seem to be our junk food days around here. It’s the end of the week for us, we’re all bit tired and lazy from the previous week and we just want to take it easy and veg out…. or junk food out. Ya know? This evening all happened leaving the pool, on a whim, with my constant pizza craving, and with neither one of us wanting to cook (and especially clean) in our kitchen.
I totally recommend a night like this to everyone. Order a pizza or two to go, pick up a bottle of wine, a few napkins, and go some place new, beautiful, or somewhere one wouldn’t normally go to enjoy a dinner, and have yourself a pizza picnic. Theres no preparation, no fuss, no mess, it’s delicious, and makes for a really great and easy friend or family night.

  1. Gosh, this makes me miss flagler and home. Excellent choice of venue! But I would have crossed the bridge and made my way to the small grassy area under the huge banyan…hmmm.

    • You know, every time we picnic here I say "we really need to head over to the giant tree" but never do!

  2. Sounds fun!! Mellow Mushroom!! Yummo!
We always think of this too late! Thanks for the reminder and we hope to try it soon.

    Enjoy your weekend!

  3. How lovely! I live local and enjoy all your posts on local places… I was hoping you could tell me where "the hill" you go to is? My daughter has cerebral palsy and I think it would be a great place to give her muscles (maybe mine too) a workout and seeing how there isn't many hills in Florida I was delighted to see your post about your hill. I had thought about a bridge but with concrete and traffic, probably not a good idea. Thank you!

  4. Love these photos! I can't wait for have a relaxing dinner with my family too. ♥ happy weekend to you and your family!

  5. how perfect! and pizza is really such a good picnic food – no utensils needed and so easy to clean up! will need to remember this for one of those nights when we just need to get out and don't want to really sit down in a restaurant.

  7. This is a really sweet idea. I don't know why I've never thought to just grab a pizza and go out, instead of bringing it back home. Looks like you all had a peaceful and delicious evening.

    • Seriously tho. I mean, we only started getting pizza take out about two months ago (since a vegan option plopped into west palm) and have only maybe done it 3 times now, but its just one of those things you don't think about doing and it's a big lightlbulb moment when you realize how easy it would have been to do all along!

  8. Mmm, what a wonderful idea. I shall definitely be trying this when I find myself near a pizza place.

  9. Thank you for the inspiration! Every single time we have a picnic, we wonder why we don't do it more. Such a great way to have a mini vacation!
