September 25th, 2017.

Marlowe Paloma is seven years old.

So much closer to 10 than 1. More than half way to becoming a teenager. I’m not sure how it’s possible for time to physically speed up when you become a parent, but I’m certain it does.

I’m grateful for her presence. For her life. She has changed my world in ways she will never fully understand. She is magic. She is hope. She is joy. (Sure I’m biased, but) I’m certain that if everyone was a bit more like Marlowe, this world would be a better place. Creative, calm, patient, compassionate, brilliant, a peace seeker, and a happiness maker. She is everything I strive to be, naturally.

Happy Birthday, Marlowe Paloma. I can’t wait to chase the sun around the world with you. To learn with you and from you. Thank you for being magic.
