As mentioned, I have a tremendous fear of flying. What I didn’t mention is: I once tried to get over my fear of flying by: skydiving. Yes, skydiving.
Needless to say, it didn’t work. I hated the falling part &loved the soaring part (once the chute went up). If only a plane accident meant soaring and not falling— then I’d be alright.
At 10 years old (or some age around there) I cried &cried and refused to fly to Florida. I actually ended up taking a train (with my brother and grandma) from New York to Florida. Man, I was stubborn. (heh, was… right). So yeah, Steph, Kelley, &I flew down to Florida for vacation and jumped out of a plane with my friend Camilo &two of his friends. I’m not quite sure how or why I thought skydiving would help, but whatever, it was worth a shot. Sometimes I like to jump head first into (sometimes stupid) situations and hope everything works out for the best. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t. But really, what’s life if we aren’t taking chances?
I’ve scheduled this post to go up at the same time my Atlanta flight is scheduled to take off. If something happens, then at least maybe you’ll know (or believe) I could be some sort of a badass.
A recipe will be posted tomorrow… otherwise expect me back Monday or Tuesday with an Atlanta post and a giveaway 🙂 I’m sure I’ll probably be updating a ton via twitter– at the very least: I expect some pretty ridiculous tweet worthy things to come out of my drunken friends mouths.

Holy Crap! You freakin kick booty! That takes tons of courage. I am really scared of flying too. I only flew on our honeymoon and thats it. ha! I guess I may try it again, but geez sky diving! You are freakin awesome!
I'm afraid of flying too. Even though apparently you're more likely to die in a car accident, I feel like flying is risking my life. Logically I know better, but once I get on a plane I sit there, hands clutched on arm rests until it's time to land or I fall asleep from exhaustion.
I usually try not to sleep the night before so I can sleep on the plane and it'll be over faster. I can't believe you went skydiving. I could never do that. Eek!

Oh, I hate flying too but its because I'm a military brat and military wife and veteran. I'm so Done with flying on planes especially overseas. It's just not fun. The plane part sucks but the traveling part rocks. 🙂

This is how I semi-cured my fear of flying:
I went on a 20 seater plane. I didn't freak out on a jumbo jet since.
However, since that tiny plane ride, I have been on a jumbo jet about 4 times.
The last 2 times I was clutching my sister's arm and crying, meanwhile she was trying to use some techniques to calm me the eff down.
Haha.
A fear's a fear. Flying fears SUCK. I wish I wasn't scared to fly, either. I would fly every hwere, seems so damn easy.
