We had a really wonderful week over here. I hope you guys did too. When one of your biggest problems is the internet not working, you really have no problems at all. I know I mentioned it a few times, but I had a friend in town, Hailey, who I met in India. And her husband in town too. It was great. They’re weird and awkward just like me. We explored, sang songs, ate lots of food, and even went out at night— where I was out until really super late– for the first time in a long time. I even had a cocktail while they were here. Just one. The sun was on and off, but the weather wasn’t awful. Alex had two day off work. It was just a really good week.

On one of their last days here, the sun finally came out full force and we had ourselves a little brunchday before heading off to find some gators. Some days and visits are for bigger meals— some days are for easy DIY yogurt and oatmeal bowl meals. I had my good ole’ steel cut oats breakfast— with tons of toppings. Alex spiced up a simple packaged yogurt with orange zest and vanilla— and we put out some toast and a ton of toppings to choose from. Super easy and no fuss.

Well friends, I hope you guys are doing good. I have a lot of thoughts lately– good stuff mostly. Like this year of bad has finally turned around– almost completely. I’m grateful for it. I hop you had a great week last week and an even better weekend! Happy monday!

    • it's not. but homemade yogurt is 100% on my to do list. The stuff at the store is pricey + has too many additives!

  1. Any good coconut yogurt recommendations? Can't seem to find any that don't taste funky or aren't loaded with sugar….

    • I get the unsweetened SO delicious brand for now. — both plain and vanilla. there's no sugar at all. Ideally I'd like to start making my own though since it's pricey (when you eat a lot) and it has it's fair share of additives.

  2. I'm so thrilled you had such a good week! Great friends and family are so healing for the soul. And congrats on your first cocktail. Cheers to a happy and healthy week ahead!

  3. Glad you had such a good week. A tonic the soul I think. The food looks delicious, you do know how to eat well. Wishing you another good week. CJ xx
