My copy came in today! Can you believe it? I was sitting on the porch getting some fresh air when the mail man came with an unexpected package for me— MY cookbook! Like, a real, tangible copy that I can hold in my hands— or put on my kitchen counter, or on my shelf, or to cuddle with at night. Amazing! I thought this moment would make it all feel more real, but to be quite honest, it still doesn’t feel real– so I’m guessing it may never feel completely real? Who knows. All I know is I’m super thrilled to be able to hold all my handwork right in my hands. And I’m super thrilled to get a ton (A TON!) of real, family friendly, plant-based recipes out there to so many people. In general, I wish I posted more about food around here. I haven’t for very obvious reasons this year— but I’m happy to slowly climb my way to sharing more– and to getting more little bits of healthy hope out there. I’m always hopeful show people that cooking meals full of veggies and plant-based proteins doesn’t have to be scary, or time consuming, or hated by kids, or salad. It’s not just salad. I mean, don’t get me wrong, there’s NOTHING wrong with salad, but I think there is officially one/sort of two salad recipes in the book. It’s all about comforting, homestyle approachable meals in our home– and in the book– my book!

Marlowe was SUPER excited to see the book. I didn’t even bother to go inside and grab a camera. We just ripped up the package and started going through the book. Marlowe snatched it right away and started showing me all the food she wanted to eat. “Do we have mushrooms for this?” / “I’m going to look in the fridge to see if we have bread.” / “Can we make this tonight?” / “Oh I want this!” It went on and on and on, haha!

Anyway, I’m happy (obviously). I’ve listed kid-friendly tips for over half the recipes and leftover tips too— which is great whether you’re cooking for a family or if you live alone and want to stock up on meals for the week! Waste not! And boring leftovers no more! I hope you’re inspired not only by the recipes, but also by the intro chapters— where there’s tons of tips on making cooking for yourself easier, or cooking for kids. It’s just filled with our family’s food thoughts in general. I really hope you guys love it as much as I do.
