Thursday was fabulous. Seriously, fabulous. Every year, Ms. Lisa (vintageshoelove) and family and husbands family travel down to Cocoa Beach, Florida. This was the second time Marlowe and I have made the small two+ hour journey to visit them. The first time, both our babies couldn’t even stand, they were just big fatty balls of adorable baby joy. This year, it was amazing to see them running, playing, kissing, and giggling together.
I woke up to a bright and early six am text message from a friend on thursday morning (my friends and I don’t sleep). I decided “well, I guess now is as good a time as any to pack up a sleeping baby and drive north”. So thats what we did. Two hour drive north, six hours in the sun, two hour drive south, whip up dinner (this mac and cheese), clean baby, clean house, shower, and end day: on the couch with Marlowe in lap, feeling like a super mama. (And of course blog, but it’s after midnight, so I don’t know if it counts?) It’s kinda amazing the amount of things you can conquer in one day, by yourself, if you really want to, isn’t it? Well, today, as exhausting as it was for parts, was so incredibly amazing and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I can’t wait for next year. And I definitely can’t wait until Saturday when I will be meeting up with Lisa and husband in Orlando for even more (baby-free) good times. Look out weekend, here I come.

Aren’t our little kiddos twins?! We always say Marlowe and Saffron look VERY similar to each other, but this trip we actually overheard strangers say “look at those twins!” and had others ask us about “our twins”.  Marlowe is actually two months older then little Saffron, but what do you think… fraternal twins!? I say: yes!

Happy weekend everyone!

***By the way! This will be the last day to enter into The Ride For Kids Giveaway (24 hours or so left?). Remember, each dollar you donate goes directly to help children with brain cancer. I think it goes without saying that this is a really great cause and would mean so much to families struggling with such a terrible disease…. so please, if you can, help out…. and maybe win some awesome prizes too 🙂

  1. I love the days where I feel like Super Mom! Marlowe's so adorable in her suit. Looks like a great day.

  2. awe my two favorite mama's!!! Yes I was thinking they look like twins and how cute is it that you have a similar bathing suite as Saffron 🙂

  3. Both you and your friend's bathing suits in this post and the last are amazing. I especially like the green one piece, love the vintage cut and material. Please share where you found them? Also, the feel of your beach photos is so satisfying. I used to spend my summers in Florida and miss it well, these helped give me a bit of welcome nostalgia. So thanks Drea!

  4. How adorable! Right before you mentioned twins, I was trying to figure out which one was which on the couch picture!!! Amazing pictures!!

  5. Ok you clinched it for me. I need to find a high waisted bikini for summer. You look amazing. I just need a suit that covers my weird wrinkly post-baby belly button. Wheeee!

  6. A blog hop, a skip, and a jump and I'm somehow here. You know how THAT goes! Love reading and seeing the how to's of a simple, streamlined life. You've inspired me to keep my eyes open for trash into treasure finds – which are always the very best – over here in Spain. Keep clicking away…your pics are delish!

  7. I cannot wait for this summer to be able to take my little guy to the beach. The water in NYC can take quite awhile to warm up though 🙁
I LOVE your bathing suit. Do you mind telling where it's from?
    Thanks!

  8. I love that her name is Saffron, that was a name I tossed around a few times in my head. You two have adorable babes!

  9. I have been reading your blog for quite awhile and I just love it. I think I may have commented once or twice but today I just want to tell you that Marlowe is such a beautiful little girl…gosh the cuteness is overwhelming!!!

  10. These two little ladies are all sorts of precious!!! What a fun little crew you got to play with at the beach! My little lady is turning one TOO SOON {eeek!} and I cannot wait until she can run around on the beach with her mama and dada. Glad to see you had a fun trip. By the way, I adore your suit!

  11. The two of them together are so cute! We are going to be in Florida for a wedding next week and I'm counting down the days until I'm basking in the sunshine on the beach. Or (let's be honest) chasing my toddler all over the beach.

  12. Long busy days are the best! I love your bikini, so cute. The girls definitely look like they could be twins, they look so alike sitting on the couch by themselves 🙂 x

  13. I love these pictures! You always have the best ones of her and of you two. I think your IG feed is my favorite. That one of the girls digging in the sand and the one of her running from you are so, so beautiful. So jealous of your beautiful, warm weather and beaches. I'd give my arm to leave near a beach ;]
