Alex and I have absolutely decided that moving or placing even one simple image into a new location can change the whole entire vibe of an area. We were both pleasantly surprised when I changed out one of our busier hand-painted pictures for a cleaner, brighter image. Not that the other painting was bad, but this new one just cleaned up an already sometimes (usually) cluttered space.
Now that I finally relaxed about hanging paintings in the main room (after a year of living in this house!!), I’ve had so much fun with moving and rearranging prints to fit my mood and our ever changing space. I’ve had so many people ask for tips and advice on how to hang the perfect gallery wall— and while I’ve seen some awesome tutorials out there— for me, it’s just randomly placing images and frames depending on my mood and the room’s mood— no planning. My best advice is choose three main pops of color max for your space (if color is your thing, otherwise grey, black and white is great too! or even just one pop of color!) and go from there. Work within those colors.

Without intentionally deciding, our house has bursts of yellow tealish-greens and blues and reds… the blog too, wouldn’t ya know πŸ˜‰ I guess I really like those colors a lot! I LOVE A Vintage Poster— not only because they have great prints (I LOVE all their kitchen ones!), but also because I can choose so many wonderful colors for the prints πŸ™‚

  1. Time to get posting like crazy – we just moved into a new apartment and I am done with bare walls. Choice number 1: Harlequin mcfox face – I love how you can change the color to make it perfect for your space

  2. Forgot that it had to be a separate entry for the instagram account, that I posted on the previous post. So this one will count as it :p x

  3. Oh Happy Day is super cute, too – would love to give to the hubsy bubs <3 [cristahebel @ yahoo dot com]

  4. My living room also slowly evolved into having red, teal and yellow as the focal colors! I absolutely love the red and teal combination πŸ™‚ I think the "record deal" print would be adorable on my gallery wall!

  8. Oh god all those prints are amazing!! πŸ™‚ I'm head over heelsfor the giraffe, turtle and whale prints!!

  9. I have to pick one? My alter-ego persona of Dagny Taggart would have to go with the "Who is John Galt?" But my Pollyanna cheery self would pick a phrase I say often "Good Morning Sunshine." But my girlfriends would chide with me about "Let them Eat Cake," as "cake" is a euphemism for my much younger friend with benefits/booty call πŸ™‚

  10. As a Coast Guard family I LOVE the nautical options. My favorite at the moment is the photographer/octopus print, because of my hobby. Great shop!

  11. wow, so hard to pick just one- they are all so great! I love the seersucker (Crab). My maiden name is Crabb πŸ™‚
